A new logo for Encounters with Canada

Big news! On September 2 of this year, Encounters with Canada’s logo will be changing. This is part of the rebranding strategy of Historica Canada, formerly The Historica-Dominion Institute, of which Encounters is a part. "A good brand reflects important and positive aspects of a company’s personality; the values it holds as important and the way it projects itself. Brand and logo are joined together at the hip, because a logo is the visual expression of those messages.

As an organization, it is important to project an image that is trustworthy, confident – and is consistent," said Anthony Wilson-Smith, President of Historica Canada. Added EWC Director General Linda Brunet: “Our new logo expresses the energy, diversity, national outreach, hospitality and vitality of our program. Further, its plaid design and maple leaf reflects the ethnocultural mosaic that proudly portrays the diversity of our country.

This new-refreshed Encounters’ logo looks modern, youthful and appealing. Its colours stimulate creative thinking and enthusiasm, the willingness to embrace new ideas with enjoyment and a sense of exploration and creative play. We are absolutely ecstatic with our new logo, which exactly reflects EWC’s values.”
